- Provides a safe and encouraging learning environment to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
- Plans and develops instructional plans, lessons, projects, and other support activities to present the approved curriculum for both PLTW Computer Science and AOPA Aerospace courses in accordance with district goals and objectives, providing appropriate educational opportunities and instruction for each student according to their needs and abilities.
- Maintains accurate records, tests, reports, etc., as required by district policies, Federal Regulations, and School Board Policy to demonstrate student performance.
- Analyzes and uses student performance data to inform instruction.
- Establishes and maintains good rapport and communication with students, school personnel, and parents.
- Establishes classroom routines and procedures and implements effective classroom management.
- Attends required professional development activities to enhance and maintain program requirements.
- Prepares in advance appropriate lesson plans that match district and state curriculum for both PLTW Computer Science and AOPA Aerospace pathways, working with fellow teachers in planning instruction.
- Implements School Board and school-based policies and procedures to uphold school regulations.
- Works closely with guidance/special education personnel/outside resources to assist students with special needs.
- Builds partnerships with cooperating teachers and other educational institutions for placement of students in work-based learning.
- Integrates technology in instruction, following relevant educational standards for both PLTW Computer Science and AOPA Aerospace courses.
- Serves as the Skills USA Career and Technical Student Organizations Advisor.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor of Instructional Programs and the Principal.

Below are the qualifications for this position:
- Must be eligible for State of Delaware Certification in Technology Education, Secondary Mathematics, or qualify for Skilled and Technical Sciences (STS) certification Engineering and Technology.
- Knowledge of Delaware State Content Standards, Assessment & Accountability.
- Knowledge of Career and Technical Student Organizations.
- Knowledge of best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills.
