Wastewater Maintenance Technician

Role Summary: The Site Services Technician role is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain process and facility equipment in wastewater plants. This work is completed according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the company’s business goals and objectives. This is a mobile position covering the service areas of New York City Boroughs and Long Island. The Site Services Technician reports directly to the Director of Site Services - NSU's Hillsborough home office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on treatment plant equipment, including pumps, valves, piping, blowers, and compressors
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control systems, including motors, VFDs, PLCs, and process instrumentation (level, flow, pressure, pH, DO)
• Identify equipment issues such as vibration, overheating, leaks, and control faults, and implement effective repairs and solutions
• Operate hand and power tools and assist with site preparation and repair projects as needed
• Accurately document work performed, labor hours, and materials used in the CMMS system
• Follow all safety policies and procedures while maintaining a safe work environment
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, clients, and team members regarding work progress and issues
• Work independently, support team efforts, and participate in an on-call rotation for emergency response
• Travel within the service area as needed, maintaining accurate records for time, mileage, and expenses
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
