ATS is seeking a detail-orientated Engineer to join our team in supporting programs at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Panama City Division. This contract will support the Science and Technology effort under NSWC PCD cognizance. You will directly participate in planning and execution of concept refinement and model development projects which apply the research and all-source analysis findings to the point of advising on top level model requirements and model evaluation criteria. You will assist government subject matter experts by applying sound scientific and engineering judgements to identify problem areas and impact on achieving technical success.

Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Investigates solutions to product or process problems.
- Work with the project managers and project engineers to ensure that design input into cost,
- Perform mechanical development, design, engineering changes, drawing packages, on multiple projects through all phases of development and manufacturing.
- Must have strong proficiency in creation and review of U.S. Navy technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software.
- The ability to work independently, and yet be able to collaborate with other design disciplines and with guidance from team leadership.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate ideas and concepts in both written and oral form.
- Be fully capable of working in design teams to assist in meeting the project goals in a team-
- Perform trade studies, design of experiments, assembly and testing of parts, components, and assemblies.
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in CAD, Solidworks, Haystack, CMPRO, Microsoft Office software suite -
- Evaluate project reliability, safety, and performance.

Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. Active Secret Clearance is a big plus.
- Three (3) years of experience working 3 years of prior relevant experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
- Experience supporting government projects and working closely with Program Managers.
- Experience conducting rapid trade studies and analysis of mechanical solutions.
- Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks Design Environment and Product Data Management (PDM)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.
