Position Overview
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Research Associate to support our molecular team. This is a hands-on lab-based role at the forefront of Genome Editing Technology with an emphasis on effective delivery, protocol troubleshooting and putting ideas into action.
Job Description:
- Assist with molecular cloning experiments, which include vector digestion, PCR, ligation, transformation, plasmids preps (mini/midi prep), etc.
- Perform DNA isolation from cells or from tissue, PCR and agarose gel run.
- Molecular cloning and trouble-shooting knowledge
- Work with high volumes of samples, range of 100 to 400 samples per day.
- Maintain good lab notebook records for easy and clear tracking of experiment details and results.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a rapidly changing, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot experimental problems and play an active role in the planning of further experiments.
- Prepare materials and manage/organize lab supplies.
- Attend departmental meetings.
Minimum qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, or related discipline with 2 years of experience.
· Hands-on experience in PCR and molecular cloning is a plus.
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
· Excellent organizational skills
