Ideal candidates will have an BS/MS with a background in subsea technology, acoustics, sonar signal processing, autonomous systems, and an understanding of Navy technologies and operations.
Successful applicants will support the analysis of a cutting-edge acoustic system through development and production. In this role, a successful candidate will engage in the analysis of large oceanographic data sets to inform important design decisions and improve overall system performance. Additionally, this role will include automation of system tests and management of a growing acoustic database. Job Functions And Responsibilities
- Support ocean-acoustic modeling and simulation
- Support design and development of complex undersea acoustic systems
- Support development, management, and execution of a number of ongoing and future programs pertaining to areas of innovative maritime systems.
- Conduct scientific analysis of at-sea experimental data and produce technically accurate reports.
- Support the production and design of undersea acoustic systems from transducer hardware to software signal processing.
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Possess strong analytic and quantitative problem-solving skills
- Possess a demonstrated ability to deliver work on a timeline
- Possess a demonstrated ability to work both independently and in teams
- Knowledge of acoustic beamforming with an understanding of detection and contact tracking theory.
- Experience with digital signal processing, with expertise in MATLAB and a working knowledge of Linux based systems.
- Experience supporting and partnering with senior technical staff to develop innovative technology solutions that meet technical needs.
- Ability to technically contribute to and execute a variety of complex technical tasks at a detailed level.
- Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance
- Experience in one or more of the following: C , Python, SQL
- Active security clearance
