Summary
AOI is a leading supplier of high-speed semiconductor lasers and components used in fiber optical communications. We are looking for a highly motivated optoelectronics device test engineer. The R&D Test Engineers primary responsibility is to characterize semiconductor lasers and photodetectors to support new high-speed, high-power lasers and/or photodetectors product development in a dynamic R&D team. This position requires tests, data analysis, and Labview programming.
Job Duties

Perform electrical and optical characterizations of semiconductor laser diodes and photodetectors, such as DC test of laser power, current, voltage, and optical spectrum; DC test of photodetector dark current, photocurrent, and responsivity; RF test of laser/photodetector small-signal modulation and fiber optical transmission.

DC and RF test on wafer, bar, and individually packaged device levels in a cleanroom environment for various R&D projects.

Derive test plans and test setup for new products, data analysis, and create the summary report.

Develop and implement qualification test plans for new products based on reliability standards or customers special requests, including stress tests (Burn In, HALT, HTOL, Damp Heat, etc.), test data, measurement points, data processing and analysis, and the summary report.

Conduct failure analysis

Supervise a small group of technicians to complete the testing tasks.

Provide technical supports to product managers.
Qualifications

M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Optics or related discipline. Candidate with at least 2 years relevant industry experiences is preferred. Fresh graduate is acceptable with appropriate academic experience.

Or B. S. degree with minimum 2 years of industrial experience in semiconductor laser/photodetector or other related optoelectronics or electronics device testing

Relevant knowledge in semiconductor lasers/photodetectors is preferred

Must know LabVIEW programming and database knowledge is a plus

Robust data analysis skills and troubleshooting abilities

Demonstrated proficiency in experimental techniques

Location
This position will be on-site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
