Summary
We are seeking a Purchasing Planner. In this role, you will be responsible for looking at market outlooks and determine when and what to buy when contracting with vendors, ordering supplies, or making a big investment in a product, technology, etc. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing short- and long-term strategies to purchase commodities
Job Duties

Process POs, track deliveries, and resolve discrepancies (e.g., shortages, RMAs).

Serve as the primary vendor contact for order status, lead times, and quality issues.

Compare supplier quotes and support cost-breakdown analysis for decision-making.

Collaborate with warehouse teams to align purchases with inventory demand.

Identify and recommend process improvements for procurement workflows.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required: Bachelors degree preferably in Supply Chain or business-related

Nice-to-have: Master's degree preferably in Supply Chain or business-related

1 to 2 years of working experience as a buyer

Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

A thorough understanding of sourcing methodologies

Ability to negotiate favorable terms that reduce procurement costs

Efficient multi-tasker with systematic approach to procurement operations

Team player in multi-culture environment

Flexibility/Adaptability

Bilingual in Mandarin is a plus

Not required but will be a plus

Six Sigma/Lean Sigma, Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)

This position will be on-site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
