Position Description
The Access and Security Systems Technician is responsible for supporting the safety, functionality, and reliability of Applied Medical’s facilities through the installation, maintenance, and repair of access control systems, surveillance equipment, and low voltage infrastructure. This role ensures secure and efficient operations by maintaining physical security systems and supporting facility upgrades and maintenance activities. This position plays a key role in protecting assets, enabling daily operations, and maintaining a safe environment across Applied Medical locations.

Position Description

This role ensures secure and efficient operations by maintaining physical security systems and supporting facility upgrades and maintenance activities. This position plays a key role in protecting assets, enabling daily operations, and maintaining a safe environment across Applied Medical locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, pull, terminate, and test low voltage cabling for access control systems, surveillance systems, and building infrastructure
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain access control systems, surveillance equipment, and security devices, including closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems
- Repair and maintain doors, locks, and physical access hardware to ensure secure facility operations
- Perform facilities maintenance tasks, including repairing, installing, and servicing building systems, equipment, and property assets
- Operate hand tools and power tools such as drills and hammer drills to complete installation and maintenance work
- Collaborate with facilities, construction, and security teams on new construction projects, remodels, and system upgrades
- Climb ladders and operate aerial lifts to complete work safely in elevated environments
- Document completed work, report maintenance requirements, and communicate system issues to leadership
- Maintain high availability and reliability of access control systems and surveillance technology
- Deliver accurate, high-quality installations and repairs that meet safety and operational standards
- Demonstrate effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to support facility and security initiatives
- Proactively identify maintenance needs and implement solutions that improve system performance and longevity
- Ensure clear communication and timely reporting of maintenance activities and system issues
- Contribute to a safe and compliant work environment by following job-site safety rules and best practices
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
- Demonstrate more than two years of experience in low voltage installation, security systems, or facilities maintenance
- Maintain a valid California driver’s license and successfully pass a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) check
- Apply ability to read and interpret design plans, blueprints, and technical diagrams
- Exhibit comfort working on new construction sites and remodeling projects in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrate knowledge of job-site safety rules, procedures, and equipment
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality standards
- Perform manual labor that includes extensive walking, standing, kneeling, lifting, carrying, and climbing ladders
- Demonstrate willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed to support operational requirements
- Apply basic computer knowledge for documentation, communication, and reporting tasks
- Demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills
- Read, write, and speak English effectively in a professional work environment
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Apply foundational construction knowledge to support installations and repairs
