About the Job

Applied Inspection Systems (AIS) is seeking motivated NDT Assistant Technicians to support our team in Arkansas and North Carolina. As an Assistant Technician, you will work alongside certified NDT Level II Technicians to perform non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections using a variety of industry methods. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the NDT industry while developing technical skills through on-the-job training.


This role involves assisting with inspection activities, preparing equipment, documenting findings, maintaining a safe work environment, and supporting inspection teams in accordance with company procedures and industry standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, eager to learn, and willing to travel as needed.

Essential Job Functions

·      Assist Level II Technicians in performing NDT inspections using various inspection methods.

·      Prepare, organize, and maintain inspection equipment and materials.

·      Assist with equipment setup, calibration checks, and breakdown at job sites.

·      Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with company and customer safety standards.

·      Follow all company safety policies and notify supervisors of potential hazards or unsafe conditions.

·      Support inspection activities by recording measurements and documenting inspection data accurately.

·      Assist with the preparation of inspection reports and required documentation.

·      Load, unload, transport, and organize inspection equipment and materials.

·      Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance of inspection equipment.

·      Communicate professionally with supervisors, team members, customers, and clients.

·      Travel to customer facilities as required.

·      Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner.

·      Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

·      High school diploma or equivalent.

·      Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

·      Travel requirements: 0%–50%.

·      Must pass a background check, drug screen, and alcohol screening.

·      Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical inspection methods.

·      Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and other common software applications.

·      Ability to read and follow written procedures and work instructions.

·      Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·      Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·      Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, work at heights, and perform inspections in industrial environments.

·      Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments.

·      Previous industrial, construction, manufacturing, mechanical, or inspection experience is preferred but not required.

·      Prior NDT experience or certifications are a plus but not required. Training and career advancement opportunities are available for qualified candidates.
