Summary of the Opportunity
AGES is recruiting for a full-time Quality Assurance/Quality Compliance Manager (QA/QC Manager) position in our Clinton, Pennsylvania office, near the Pittsburgh International Airport. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for implementing and maintaining all facets of AGES’ corporate QA/QC program. They will report directly to the company's President and have the opportunity to join our senior leadership team, championing a culture of quality across the organization.
Our QA/QC Manager will be instrumental in refining and executing a comprehensive quality strategy that aligns with AGES’ corporate mission and drives customer satisfaction. They will oversee our quality assurance function to ensure our operations and deliverables consistently meet the highest standards. The overall goal is to work with our Corporate Officers and Project Managers to build and implement a robust QA/QC framework that supports AGES in meeting its corporate objectives.
Role of QA Manager
At AGES, our staff conducts fieldwork, including the collection of media samples, overseeing, and documenting large-scale environmental cleanup projects, and overseeing and documenting remedial demolition and construction projects, and related work. At the conclusion of each field project, our office staff prepares technical and regulatory reports, ranging from letter reports to large, multi-volume reports that include text, figures, data tables, and laboratory reports. Detailed attention to the quality of collected field data and the associated reports has always been critical to our continued success.
As the QA/QC Manager, your responsibilities would include:
- With the support of AGES’ Corporate Officers, work with and train our existing and new staff in quality functions to further build and strengthen our corporate commitment to quality in operations and deliverables;
- Review, improve, and expand our existing Quality Management System:
- Help create specific QA plans, policies, and procedures to ensure that field data collection protocols and standards are being met;
- Audit field documentation and client deliverables to identify and correct quality issues and associated corrective actions;
- Complete quality, audit, and correction action reports and company logs;
- Provide weekly and monthly quality communications to staff to ensure consistent improvement;
- Design, implement and monitor Performance Improvement Plans relating to quality;
- Refine and implement policies to ensure document preparation, technical reviews, and version control meet a level of consistent quality for all deliverables;
- Oversee the QA/QC process through regular inspections and corrective actions to ensure all documents conform to AGES standards for format and technical accuracy;
- Manage AGES’ document management system to ensure proper version control, accessibility, and archiving of all controlled documents;
- Collaborate with our Project Managers to resolve documentation issues and drive process improvements;
- Maintain existing company training compliance database;
- Monitor our employee remote-travel tracking system;
- Regularly report to AGES’ Corporate Officers on quality issues, including ongoing reviews of field data and reports, the status of corrective actions, and our drive for continuous improvement; and
- As a past winner of the Pennsylvania Governor’s Award for Safety Excellence (GASE-2023), AGES has an unwavering commitment to safety. Previous experience with workplace safety programs, safety plans, and safety audits would be a plus for any candidate.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must be highly self-motivated, possess an entrepreneurial attitude and work ethic, and be a proven leader in QA/QC. They must be passionate about professional challenges, have effective communication and critical thinking skills, and be willing to do “whatever it takes” to exceed the expectations of AGES’ clients. A BS degree in a technical or related field and at least ten (10) years of management experience related to QA/QC are required.
