Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a CNC Machinist to operate CNC machines and use existing programming to produce tools & parts to dimensional requirements. The ideal candidate will possess several years of CNC operating experience, some exposure to CNC programming, and attributes of a self-starter as this individual will at times work under indirect supervision.

Job Accountabilities:
- Operate 5-axis CNC machines
- Setup and operate a range of automatic or semiautomatic machines
- Reports malfunctions in equipment and makes minor adjustments and repairs
- Run CNC programs to produce tools & parts to dimensional/tolerance requirements
- Participate in brainstorming / problem solving with Engineering & Production personnel to solve related problems
- Gathers necessary tooling, fixtures, and materials needed for job per traveler requirements
- Continuously monitors equipment to ensure safe operation and production of quality parts
- Adjusts machines according to dimensional non-conformity
- Understands and read production drawings, product requirements on the traveler, and know where critical characteristics are
- Reports any machine malfunctions or safety hazards
- Perform preventative maintenance to equipment
- Follow Standard Industrial practice for working with composites and other materials
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Job Specifications:
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Years’ Experience: 2-3 years of relevant work experience
Skills:
- Previous CNC Programming experience preferred
- Previous CMS knowledge
- Previously operated 5-axis CNC machines
- Understanding of material properties & characteristics
- Working knowledge of various measuring gages: micrometers, pin gages, dial indicator, screw pitch gage, height gages and comparator stand/gage
- Advanced Computer Knowledge
- Ability to do trigonometry and geometrical math computations
- Ability to interact effectively with customers, peers, management, manufacturing personnel, and both technical and non-technical people
- Experience in laminating Carbon Fiber, Fiberglass, Kevlar, or other composites material
- Experience in semi-repetitive specialized machine operations
- Strong experience in machining tools
- Ability to use hand tools and machinery
- Able to follow instructions, sketches, blueprints, engineering drawings and manuals
- Capable of problem-solving: Exercises judgment, based on previous experience, practices and precedents, to identify and solve problems that arise.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle multiple projects and to work alongside peers
- Ability to manage time to get work completed on schedule
- Dependable and accountable with strong attendance, time-management skills, and a consistent work ethic
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment performing accurate and quality products
- Possesses high mechanical aptitude

3rd Shift: 11:30PM - 8:00AM, Monday - Friday
*must be able to train on 1st shift (7:30AM - 4:00PM, Monday - Friday) for at least 90 days.
