The responsibilities of the Shop Helper are focused on foundational tasks that keep operations running smoothly.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain Cleanliness and Organization on the manufacturing floor: Keeping the floor clear of debris, work areas are kept neat and organized.
- Assist Assemblers, Welders, Machine Operators: Retrieve tools, parts, or materials, holding components, and providing an extra set of hands.
- Material Handling: Moving material, supplies, and finished products within the shop areas for assembly, testing or shipping which may include using hand trucks, pallet jacks or a forklift.
- Prepping and Finishing: Sanding, masking or cleaning parts.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to all safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and identifying potential hazards.
- Learning and Observing: This role is an opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, observe processes, and gain foundational knowledge.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and willing to put in the effort.
- Willingness to Learn: A proactive attitude and eagerness to absorb new information and skills are crucial.
- Attention to Detail: Being thorough in cleaning, organizing and following instructions.
- Teamwork and Communication: The ability to work effective with others and communicate clearly.
- Physical Stamina: Involves lifting, standing for long periods, and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Basic Problem Solving: Able to identify simple issues and find solutions or ask for help when needed.
- Safety Consciousness: Understanding and prioritizing safety in the workplace.
- Basic Mechanical Aptitude: Interested in how things work.
- MANDATORY - US citizen or permanent resident (Green Card holders) due to Government ITAR regulations.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
The Shop Helper reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager, are expected to work and coordinate with the Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering departments.
