POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and proficient Press Brake Operator to join our precision manufacturing team in the aerospace and defense industry. The ideal candidate possess specialized experience operating critical, high-tolerance metal components from standard materials. This role is essential to our commitment to quality and safety in producing parts for demanding defense and aerospace applications.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and adjust press brake machine, including selecting and installing appropriate dies and tooling to achieve precise bends.
- Create, modify and optimize programs for complex bends, managing bend sequencing, back gauge settings, and required pressure.
- Accurately read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and work orders, including understanding GD&T specifications.
- Handle and manipulate sheet metal materials safely and efficiently, often working with large or irregular-sized sheets to bend and form into specific configurations.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, protractors, height gauges) checking for defects to ensure they meet engineering specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the press brake equipment to ensured optimal functionality.
- Follow and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures in the workshop environment.
- Handle raw materials and finished products, which may involve lifting heavy components.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on-experience as a dedicated Press Brake Operator.
- One (1) year of direct experience operating or setting up a Bystronic Smart Bend 160 is preferred.
- Machining skills are a plus.
- Proven experience working with high-tolerance components, preferably within the Aerospace and Defense manufacturing industries.
- Ability to perform shop mathematics to calculate measurements and ensure accuracy.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
- MANDATORY - US citizen or permanent resident (Green Card holders) due to Government ITAR regulations.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
The Press Brake Operator/Assembler reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager. This position is expected to work and coordinate with the Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering departments.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for lengthy periods of time.
- Manual dexterity and good vision (corrected) for precision work.
- Can be noisy and requires constant adherence to safety measures.
