Position Overview
The Quality Control Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity, reliability, and performance of Applied BioCode's diagnostic products. This position is responsible for performing quality control testing on incoming materials, in-process reagents, finished diagnostic products, and analyzers, including PCR-based assays.
The QC Associate supports product stability assessments, identifies non-conformances, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with FDA and ISO requirements. This role requires strong attention to detail, consistent documentation practices, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform quality control testing on diagnostic products, including PCR assays
- Analyze, trend, and document QC data and test results
- Prepare, qualify, and maintain QC reagents
- Follow established QC procedures, protocols, and SOPs
- Support investigations related to non-conformances and CAPAs
- Calibrate, monitor, and verify laboratory equipment performance
- Ensure batch records are clear, accurate, and complete
- Write, review, and update SOPs and controlled documents as needed
- Conduct visual inspections to identify defects or non-conformities
- Partner with Manufacturing, R&D, and QA to resolve quality issues
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment
- Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives
- Perform other QC or laboratory-related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PCR-based assays
- Prior experience in IVD, medical device, biotech, or other FDA-regulated environments
- Experience using electronic QMS platforms (ComplianceQuest preferred)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field
- 1–5 years of experience in a regulated industry (FDA, ISO 13485, or similar)
- Hands-on laboratory experience in QC testing or diagnostic manufacturing
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Work Environment
- Onsite, Monday through Friday, in a regulated IVD or medical device manufacturing environment
- Laboratory setting with extended periods of sitting or standing
- Ability to safely work with hazardous chemicals and infectious agents
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
