We are seeking a Medical Billing Manager to oversee the billing processes within our organization. Located in South Lakeland, this role is crucial in ensuring accurate and efficient billing operations that support our mission of delivering quality behavioral health services.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the medical billing department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of claims.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to verify insurance information and authorizations.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and follow up on unpaid claims.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance policies.
- Train and supervise billing staff, providing guidance on best practices.
- Implement process improvements to optimize billing workflows.
- Prepare reports on billing activities for senior management.
- Coordinate with external vendors or insurance companies as needed.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing, preferably within behavioral health or similar healthcare settings.
- Strong knowledge of insurance policies, coding, and healthcare regulations.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data and generate detailed reports.
- Proficiency in billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with insurance providers and team members.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Preferred: Experience managing a team in a healthcare environment.
