Job Responsibilities:
The Expeditor supports MRP Buyers by managing and monitoring material deliveries into and out of the warehouse and assisting with the resolution of material shortages to maintain production schedules.
- Coordinate, route, and expedite materials to support production requirements.
- Engage with suppliers to obtain confirmed delivery commitments and expedite parts to resolve shortages.
- Communicate with suppliers to verify order status, shipment details, and resolve delivery issues or discrepancies.
- Monitor incoming materials to ensure proper routing and timely receipt.
- Track the flow of materials and parts between departments to meet scheduled commitments using SAP and other system tools.
- Escalate delivery delays and collaborate with buyers and suppliers to develop and execute recovery plans.
- Assist with urgent material needs by expediting inventory movement to minimize production impact.
- Create and manage purchase orders (POs) in SAP, ensure shipment of material to suppliers, and create and complete IDACs as required.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Track high-priority (“hot”) incoming materials through receipt and confirmation in the SAP system.
- Process and maintain material reworks and variance materials for MRP Purchasing, including:
- Coordinating RMAs with suppliers.
- Creating rework POs in SAP.
- Ensuring return shipment of materials to suppliers.
- Create rework POs and IDACs in SAP as requested for Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) processed by NPI buyers.
