What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineering Technician position at Applicantz?
This is a 24-month onsite role in Fremont (zip 94538) Regular Mon-Fri, 40 hours, 8am-5pm
Qualifications:
- Minimum Associates degree in electronics or related field required and/or equivalent military experience that includes electronics, such as avionics technician
- 1 year of semiconductor capital equipment industry or equivalent.
- Cable / harness rework / build
- PCB rework, troubleshoot
- 3 phase AC power box, rework / build
General Responsibilities / Job Functions:
Equipment Management:
- Manage calibration processes for several hundred pieces of electrical equipment, including vendor coordination and asset tracking using RFID or other real-time tracking systems.
- Maintain outsourcing of electrical equipment service, ensuring timely, well-coordinated repairs in collaboration with engineering teams.
Test/Diagnostic Equipment familiarity:
- Oscilloscopes (variety of probes such as HV, differential, current clamps), signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, DVMs, Hi-Pot tester, DAQs, TC/RTD loggers, FLIR cameras, Power meters, solder/rework stations, 3D printing, Lab view programming.
Engineering Lab:
- Responsible for lab cleanliness, upkeep of lab equipment, moving parts to offsite storage or inventory.
- Manages check-in/check-out of equipment.
- Responsible for the general lab safety.
- Hand tool condition & replacement and stocking shared parts.
- Assists with lab space coordination, documentation of layouts and equipment
Rework PCBs:
- Through-hole, surface mount soldering. Jumper wires, dead-bug ICs. Potting/epoxy material. Document rework done.
Trouble Shoot PCBs:
- Able to trouble shoot a PCB with schematic provided and minimal guidance.
Cable assemblies:
- Build new and modify existing cables/harnesses.
Experience with:
- Harting, Molex, CPC, Ring Lugs, Ferrules, DSUB and combo DSUB connectors. Including crimp tools used, proper shield termination and wire gauge size. Proper application of Shrink tubing.
- Bonus points for coax cables with RF connector experience.
- 3 and single phase 208/480VAC wiring to circuit breakers and contactors. Proper torqueing of connections.
Enclosure Build:
- Modifying (drilling, cutting) engineering box/enclosure to house all the above items. Bulkhead connectors to internal cables, internal PCB mounting, Circuit breaker, contactor, EMO and panel mount status LED mounting. Prototype fabrication skills such as sheetmetal punching/nibbling bending shearing drilling.
Engineering test support:
- Able to assist Engineering in a wide range of tests/experiments.
- Thermal/Humidity chambers, Test fixture build, Component cycling
Office/PC:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products; Excel, Word, Outlook, CoPilot. Web search for parts, tools, data sheets and solutions to problems.
