Retail Assistant Manager

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise retail staff, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to enhance team productivity and morale
• Manage daily store operations including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) systems operation
• Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, stocktaking, and inventory control to minimize shrinkage and optimize product availability
• Implement merchandising strategies to maximize visual appeal and sales potential of products
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
• Coordinate purchasing activities, pricing adjustments, and promotional displays in line with company policies
• Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and onboarding new employees

Experience

• Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or in a supervisory role within the retail industry, with a strong background in sales team management
• Demonstrated skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, and recruiting processes
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, bookkeeping, payroll administration, and inventory management software
• Experience managing retail operations including shift management, budgeting, merchandising, and operational oversight
• Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to effectively communicate with diverse customer bases
• Strong organizational skills combined with excellent managerial communication and leadership capabilities
• Prior supervising experience in retail sales environments is essential; familiarity with retail math concepts such as pricing strategies and sales analysis is preferred

Pay: $23.69 - $28.53 per hour
