Appliance Liquidators | A BMD, Inc. Company | Full-Time | In-Person
Competitive Commission Plan
Build Your Career. Build Your Future. Become an Employee-Owner.
Are you a customer-focused sales professional who enjoys helping people find the right products for their homes and projects?
Appliance Liquidators is looking for a motivated, customer-focused Inside Sales Associate to join our team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with customers, learning products, solving problems, and helping people find the right appliances for their homes or projects. You’ll work with a variety of customers—including homeowners, builders, property managers, and other trade professionals—while developing strong product knowledge and building long-term customer relationships.
As part of the BMD, Inc. family of companies, Appliance Liquidators is backed by an established organization with a strong commitment to its employees, customers, and communities. BMD is also 100% employee-owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), giving eligible employees the opportunity to share in the success they help create.
What You’ll Do
As an Inside Sales Associate, you’ll guide customers through the appliance buying process from initial conversation through completed sale and delivery.
- Greet and assist customers in the showroom and respond to customer inquiries by phone and email.
- Ask the right questions to understand customer needs, budget, timeline, and product requirements.
- Recommend appliances and related products based on customer needs and available inventory.
- Explain appliance features, benefits, specifications, warranties, care requirements, and service expectations.
- Provide accurate information regarding pricing, availability, lead times, delivery, and installation.
- Prepare quotes and convert customer opportunities into completed sales.
- Enter and maintain accurate sales orders and customer information in company systems.
- Maintain proactive communication with customers throughout the order process.
- Follow orders from the point of sale through delivery and assist with resolving questions or issues that arise.
- Partner with warehouse, delivery, installation, purchasing, and other internal teams to ensure orders are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Follow up on inbound leads, showroom traffic, phone inquiries, referrals, and other sales opportunities.
- Develop relationships with existing customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
- Recommend complementary products and services when appropriate.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of appliance brands, product specifications, pricing programs, promotions, lead times, and availability.
- Keep showroom displays, literature, work areas, and customer-facing spaces organized and sales-ready.
- Meet or exceed assigned sales, gross margin, and other performance expectations.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Customer-focused and comfortable working directly with the public.
- Motivated by sales goals and individual performance.
- Confident starting conversations and building relationships with customers.
- Organized and able to manage multiple customers and orders at the same time.
- Detail-oriented when preparing quotes and entering orders.
- Comfortable learning technical product information.
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally in person, by phone, and through email.
- Proactive about customer follow-up rather than waiting for customers to call back.
- Able to stay composed and solutions-focused when handling customer concerns.
- Dependable, accountable, and willing to work collaboratively with other departments.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced showroom environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in retail sales, inside sales, customer service, call center sales, or a related customer-facing environment preferred.
- Appliance sales experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience in home improvement, building products, furniture, electronics, automotive, wholesale distribution, or another consultative sales environment may also transfer well.
- Demonstrated ability to build customer relationships and achieve sales goals is preferred.
Technology
Candidates should be comfortable using computers and learning company systems. Experience with the following is helpful:
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft Word and Excel
- CRM or sales order systems
- ERP/order management systems
- Internet-based product and manufacturer resources
We’d especially like to hear from candidates who have experience with:
- Appliance sales
- Retail showroom sales
- Commission-based sales
- Home improvement or building products
- Builder or property-management customers
- CRM systems
- Order management
- Delivery or installation coordination
Strong sales and customer service experience from another industry can be just as valuable if you’re willing to learn appliances.
Why This Role Matters

You’ll serve as a trusted resource—helping customers understand their options, setting realistic expectations, coordinating internally, and staying engaged until the order is successfully completed.
Your ability to listen, recommend, communicate, and follow through directly impacts the customer experience and the success of Appliance Liquidators.
