This role offers the opportunity to lead some of the most challenging and rewarding healthcare construction projects in the country, ranging from major hospital campuses and specialty medical facilities to pharmaceutical manufacturing plants and advanced research environments.
The position is travel-focused and can be based from any company office nationwide or from your current location, with project assignments throughout the United States.
The Opportunity
The Healthcare Superintendent will serve as the on-site construction leader responsible for driving project execution, maintaining schedule adherence, ensuring exceptional quality standards, and fostering a world-class safety culture.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience leading large healthcare, medical, life sciences, or pharmaceutical projects and excels at coordinating complex MEP systems, managing subcontractors, and delivering projects in highly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all field operations for large-scale healthcare, medical, pharmaceutical, and life sciences construction projects.
- Drive project execution from mobilization through turnover and occupancy.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors to ensure schedule, quality, and safety objectives are achieved.
- Oversee site logistics, sequencing, workflow planning, and day-to-day field operations.
- Review construction documents, shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals for constructability and execution planning.
- Partner closely with project management teams to proactively address challenges and mitigate project risks.
- Lead pull-planning, short-interval planning, and overall schedule execution efforts.
- Ensure projects maintain compliance with all contract documents, industry standards, life safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Facilitate inspections, occupancy processes, commissioning activities, and final turnover.
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, end users, consultants, inspectors, and trade partners.
- Mentor assistant superintendents and field engineers while helping develop future field leadership talent.

Qualifications
- 10 years of construction field leadership experience preferred.
- Proven success as a Superintendent on large healthcare or advanced facility projects.
- Strong understanding of complex MEP systems, commissioning, and healthcare construction requirements.
- Experience managing multiple phases of construction from sitework through turnover.
- Thorough knowledge of quality control, scheduling, safety, logistics, and subcontractor management.
- Ability to lead large field teams and maintain strong project culture.
- Working knowledge of CPM scheduling and construction management software platforms.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
