Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Charge Nurse to lead our nursing team and ensure the highest quality of patient care. The Charge Nurse will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, coordinating patient care, and providing guidance to nursing staff. This role requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Nursing Assistants and check all work areas to ensure that all assignments are completed, ensuring that Nursing Assistance comply with personnel policies and other employment regulations. Assist with and participate in documentation of disciplinary action of Nursing Assistants in instances where employment policies or accepted patient care practices are not being followed.
- Assist in orientation process for Nursing Assistants and independently conduct evaluations of new Nursing Assistant.
- Order medications from pharmacy, and/or prepare and administer medications as ordered by physician and in accordance with company policy.
- Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medication administration.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as PointClickCare.
- Supervise and participate in fire safety and other disaster drills and be prepared to carry out duties in the event of an actual fire or disaster.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, providing immediate care as needed in emergency situations.
- Mentor and train new nursing staff on protocols, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Nursing diploma from an accredited nursing program.
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as a nurse in this state.
- Six months experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other health care facility, or other health care institution implementing total patient care, care planning, and making sound nursing judgements.
- Working knowledge of principal equipment, materials, machines, or tools used related to basic resident care, such as glucometers, suction machine, oxygen machines, medication chart, CPR board, and treatment cart.
- Chart pertinent facts and information in a professional, clear and comprehensive manner.
- Make prompt and accurate nursing care and supervisory judgements.
- Tolerate and effectively address conflicts among and between staff, residents, visitors, and others.
- Can demonstrate sound judgment, dependability, and good teamwork and communication skills.
- Have a tactful, pleasant, and friendly approach in dealing with residents ,staff, guests, and individuals within the community.
- Is capable of meeting the physical demands of the position as outlined.
- One year experience in a long-term care facility, hospital or other health care institution implementing total patient care, care planning, and making sound nursing judgements.
- Willing to work flexible hours.

Pay: $27.50 - $40.00 per hour
