What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional position at Appleton Area School District?
LMC/Recess-Instructional Paraprofessional Essential Function:
The LMC/Recess-Instructional Paraprofessional is to assist professional staff members in performing clerical tasks and non-instructional duties. Assigned, as necessary, to assist the professional teacher in the instructional program by implementing teacher-planned and teacher-supervised small group and/or individual activities. In addition, assist the library media program or department with activities that are primarily non-instructional and clerical in nature under the direction of the Media Specialist.
Health Room Paraprofessional Essential Function:
The Health Room Paraprofessional provides assistance to students and school personnel in accordance with the goal of ensuring safe and healthy school environments for all. Furthermore, this position will also collaborate with the school nurse on monitoring the needs of students within the school.
Special Education Paraprofessional Essential Function:
The Special Education Paraprofessional provides for the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities. Assist with the implementation of classroom programs, including activities of daily living, behavior management and instruction and ensure that proper safety practices are followed at all times.
Note: All special education paraprofessionals will work with students with one or more disabilities, including but not limited to intellectual, learning, speech/language, emotional/behavioral, physical, health related and autism. These positions assist with activities focused on learning and support based on the individual needs of students with disabilities and may assist students in other learning environments (i.e., playground, lunchroom, etc.).
Salary : $16 - $18
