What are the responsibilities and job description for the Culinary Educator position at Apples to Zucchini Cooking School?
Do you love working with kids? Are you passionate about food – cooking, eating, sharing?
Join our team and help kids learn how to cook. Our program offers hands-on cooking classes, teaching children, teens and adults how to prepare nutritious, delicious, and affordable meals made from seasonal and local ingredients. The goal of these cooking classes is to introduce kids to foods they may not be familiar with, teach them how to cook a new recipe, and have them try nutritious food that may become a new part of their diet.
MOST CLASSES ARE HELD DURING THE HOURS OF 1:00-5:00PM
Responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in cooking classes using prepared recipes and lesson plans.
- Provide instruction on cooking, table setting and sanitation practices in the kitchen.
- Share culinary terminology, food cuisines, and general food knowledge.
- Maintain the equipment and supplies of AtoZ.
- Track time in AtoZ communication tool Connecteam.
Apples to Zucchini Cooking School provides the following:
- Recipes and lesson plans for each class
- All equipment necessary to teach classes
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children and teens (ages 5 - 18)
- Ability to work independently
- Exceptional time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Sharp attention to detail with an ability to multitask
- Reliable and diligent worker
- Able to deliver positive food messages
- Available in the afternoons, when classes will be conducted.
Transportation
THIS POSITION REQUIRES PERSONAL TRANSPORTATION TO TEACHING SITES AROUND THE SY VALLEY. Transportation time and mileage will be reimbursed.
