Position Summary
The Vendor Operations Lead plays a critical role in building and maintaining a high-performing network of Community Supports vendors, including Home Modification, Respite, and Residential Care Facility providers. This position oversees vendor quality, compliance, and financial performance to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery aligned with Managed Care Plan (MCP) standards.
This individual will serve as the primary liaison between vendors and internal program teams, ensuring operational efficiency, adherence to contractual requirements, and continuous quality improvement across the provider network.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor Network & Relationship Management
• Serve as the main point of contact for contracted vendors, fostering collaboration and resolving operational issues.
• Coordinate vendor onboarding, renewals, and agreements in partnership with contracting teams.
• Maintain accurate databases of vendor contracts, service capacity, and performance metrics.
• Lead vendor communication, meetings, and engagement initiatives to ensure alignment with CalAIM objectives.
• Identify and recruit new vendors to strategically expand the provider network.
• Partner with Intake Coordinators, Care Managers, and Community Supports Specialists to ensure seamless service coordination.
Compliance, Quality Oversight & Financial Stewardship
• Monitor vendor performance against contract terms, DHCS/MCP standards, and financial goals.
• Conduct site visits, audits, and performance reviews to maintain compliance and service excellence.
• Track and analyze vendor KPIs and quality measures, identifying performance gaps and recommending corrective actions.
• Verify vendor invoicing for accuracy and timeliness; ensure alignment with financial and operational standards.
• Collaborate with leadership on rate monitoring, adjustments, and contract modifications to sustain program viability.
Onboarding, Training & Technical Assistance
• Oversee vendor onboarding and orientation processes.
• Provide training and technical support to help vendors meet program expectations and quality benchmarks.
• Deliver ongoing guidance to promote operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Operational Reporting & Continuous Improvement
• Develop frameworks, tools, and performance dashboards to monitor vendor operations.
• Generate and present reports to the Program Manager/Director summarizing vendor performance and outcomes.
• Recommend network optimization strategies to enhance quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Public Health, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field (equivalent experience may substitute).
• 3 years of experience in provider/vendor relations, network management, or operations (preferably in healthcare, social services, or managed care).
• 2 years managing contracts, including negotiation, compliance, and performance monitoring.
• Demonstrated success implementing quality improvement initiatives and managing performance metrics.
• Strong relationship management, communication, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of CalAIM, Medi-Cal, and long-term services and supports.
• Valid California driver’s license and ability to travel locally for site visits.
Preferred:
• Contracting or compliance certification (e.g., Certified Contract Manager, Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma).
• Experience working directly with Managed Care
