Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the day-to-day leader and mentor for the Commercial team, providing coaching, guidance, and support without direct supervisory responsibilities.
- Partner closely with Sales, Operations, and Executive Leadership to develop competitive pricing strategies that drive profitability and business growth.
- Prepare and review complex pricing proposals for domestic and international transportation services.
- Analyze transportation costs, market trends, and customer requirements to develop accurate pricing models.
- Identify opportunities to improve pricing processes through automation, technology, AI, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with pricing analysts to ensure consistency, accuracy, and best practices across the department.
- Assist with vendor negotiations to secure competitive transportation rates.
- Resolve pricing discrepancies and collaborate with Billing, Accounts Payable, Customer Service, and Operations on commercial-related issues.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and KPIs to measure pricing performance and support business decisions.
- Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency, scalability, and service levels.
- Act as a trusted commercial resource for internal stakeholders by providing market insight and pricing recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of pricing, commercial, transportation, or logistics experience.
- Previous experience serving as a team lead, project lead, mentor, or informal leader is highly preferred.
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance profitability, customer needs, and operational capabilities.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Power BI, SQL, AI tools, or other analytics platforms is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to work alongside Sales and Executive Leadership.
- Comfortable influencing others, providing coaching, and helping teammates develop.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to make sound decisions and confidently support recommendations.
- Experience developing or improving business processes and implementing new technologies is highly desirable.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
