What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Control operator position at AppleOne Employment Services?
Responsibilities
Assist the on-air operations team during a major system migration, including:
Programming quality control
Commercial rehearsals & event prep
Shadowing and monitoring on-air programming
Providing break coverage and operational support
Maintain and adjust automation playlists; execute changes for programming, commercials, and marketing content.
Ensure accurate execution of commercial breaks for live and taped broadcasts.
Support live-event and contingency workflows using automation tools such as SNELL Morpheus and Amagi.
Monitor 150 channel streams, identifying and addressing inconsistencies quickly.
Verify readiness of all media assets for on-air playout.
Act as the final checkpoint for audio, video, captioning, and picture quality.
Collaborate with Operations Supervisors to resolve any on-air discrepancies.
Communicate with production teams to implement playlist and automation changes.
Complete additional tasks necessary to support Network Operations Center success.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma relevant certification or Associate’s degree in Media/Communications, or equivalent experience in broadcast, digital media, or post-production.
Understanding of TV production, broadcast operations, or technical production environments.
Must be able to work onsite in Centennial, CO.
Ability to work any shift (overnights, weekends, holidays) in a 24/7/365 environment.
Comfortable viewing all types of programming, including mature or repetitive content.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in master control or a production control room.
Ability to stay calm and make quick, sound decisions under pressure.
Strong attention to detail and consistency-checking skills.
Adaptability to new workflows, evolving software, and fast-changing operations.
Excellent multitasking, communication, and teamwork skills.
Reliable, punctual, disciplined, and proactive work style.
Spanish proficiency is a plus.
