What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communication/Writer Specialist position at AppleOne Employment Services?
Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
Join our dynamic team as a Corporate Communications Specialist, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping our internal and external communications. You will support critical functions related to employee communications, recruitment, social media initiatives, and engaging events that foster a vibrant workplace culture. Collaborating closely with the People & Culture team, you will contribute to the development and execution of initiatives that enhance employee experiences and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, produce, and disseminate comprehensive employee communications, including weekly publications, intranet updates, signage, videos, podcasts, and other messaging formats, all while maintaining corporate standards for consistency and style.
Create and oversee engaging content for Team social media channels, partnering with the People & Culture and Creative Services teams to ensure alignment with brand standards and timely responses to audience interactions.
Lead the planning and execution of employee engagement events, such as Service Recognition celebrations, the Summer Picnic, and holiday parties, while managing the corporate events calendar to facilitate collaboration across teams.
Compose and edit important communication pieces that recognize employee milestones, including retirement letters, special editions, and memorial statements as needed.
Collaboratively develop and implement strategies to measure employee engagement, identify enhancement opportunities, and execute cross-functional communication tactics with the Head of Communications and People & Culture team.
Qualifications:
Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to optimize resources effectively.
Strong interpersonal skills that support teamwork and collaboration with diverse departments, as well as the capability to work independently.
A track record of effective communication, both written and verbal, across various media formats, including social platforms, tailored to internal and external audiences.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Audition) or Canva.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in social media marketing, event planning, human resources, public relations, or journalism.
