Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly and assisting with product inquiries
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
- Upsell products and promote store specials or promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
- Conduct product demos when appropriate to educate customers about features and benefits
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Support inventory management through stock replenishment and inventory counts
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized checkout area to ensure a positive shopping environment
Experience
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is advantageous
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual capabilities are a plus
- Experience supervising or leading team members is beneficial for growth opportunities
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or familiarity with retail merchandising practices is helpful
