We are seeking an experienced and motivated Line Cook to join our team at the new Dine Brands Dual Brand Concept, combining the trusted hospitality of IHOP with Applebees for an innovative new dining experience. The Line Cook plays a critical role in delivering high-quality meals with consistency, speed, and attention to detail. This position requires a passion for cooking, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and plate menu items in accordance with Dine Brands recipes, portion guidelines, and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the kitchen, line, and prep areas at all times.
- Ensure all food is cooked and served safely, following health code, ServSafe, and company safety guidelines.
- Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies, ensuring readiness for peak periods.
- Operate grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment efficiently and safely.
- Work closely with fellow cooks, prep team, and servers to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
- Uphold dual brand concept standards—providing consistency across IHOP favorites and the new brand menu offerings.
- Follow opening, closing, and shift-change procedures.
- Assist with receiving deliveries, stocking, and rotating inventory.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen manager, chefs, and management team regarding food quality, shortages, or concerns.
- Support a positive, team-focused work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous line cook or restaurant kitchen experience required (casual dining or high-volume preferred).
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and handle a physically demanding environment.
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
