Job Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing meals for residents in accordance with dietary needs, facility menus, and food safety standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining resident health and satisfaction through high-quality food service.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve meals according to planned menus and dietary requirements, including texture modifications (e.g., pureed, mechanical soft)
Follow standardized recipes and portion guidelines
Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures are followed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, and work areas
Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering and receiving supplies as needed
Communicate effectively with dietary staff and nursing team regarding special diets or resident preferences
Follow resident-specific dietary plans, allergies, and physician-ordered restrictions
Assist with dishwashing and cleaning duties as assigned
May assist with supervision of dietary staff and servers, including meal service and scheduling
