Responsibilities: Are you a skilled Dietary Manager with a passion for excellence in healthcare? As a Dietary Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the Dietary Department's programs and activities to ensure the highest standards of quality within approved budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the Dietary Department, its programs and activities within approved budget and quality standards.
- Ensures that all written dietary policies, procedures, and manuals are adhered to, maintained and updated.
- Maintains compliance with state and federal regulations in preparation for state survey.
- Prepares recommendations to the Administrator concerning department operations.
- Fosters and maintains inter-departmental communication and cooperation to ensure that any reported concerns are addressed and corrected.
- Develops the organizational structure, staffing and direction within policy and budgetary guidelines.
- Responsibly exercises authority to take necessary personnel actions for department personnel including actions impacting employment such as hire, evaluations, work assignments and schedules.
- Assists in departmental conflict resolution and makes recommendations for discipline.
- Participates in continuing education and empowerment of employees as well as makes recommendations for promotion and transfers within branches of Apple Rehab.
- Proven leadership experience in long term care foodservice, or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing dietary services in healthcare.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make informed decisions and exercise authority responsibly.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and employee development.
Qualifications:
- Must hold Serv Safe Manager certification
- Ability to read, write and understand English, perform simple math calculations, measure and record data.
- Attention to detail, good follow through skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to supervise and instruct others.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long term care facility preferred.
- Demonstrates cooperation in assisting others and ability to work as a team.
- Patience, tact, enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward the residents and their support networks
