Job Description:

General Purpose:

Performs routine treatments and other therapy support activities as directed by the Rehab Director and/or supervising therapist; provides administrative support including recordkeeping, maintenance of files, reports and monthly billing information; and general office duties as directed by the Rehab Director.

Qualifications:

• Completion of secondary education (high school).
• Good communicational skills.
• Self-motivated.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Supports and/or stabilizes patients to assist the therapist during treatment, tests and evaluations.
• Assists licensed therapists or assists during administration of non-skilled treatment as directed.
• Safeguards, motivates and assists patients practicing exercises, functional activities and gait training.
• Transports residents to and from the therapy area.
• Assists in maintaining therapy area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
• Performs miscellaneous clerical duties as directed by the RD including sorting and distributing in-coming and out-going mail, recordkeeping, obtaining appropriate signatures on required records, answering telephone, taking and delivering messages.
• Prepares weekly and monthly billing as directed by the RD.
• Prepares daily/weekly/monthly reports; admission and discharge records; evaluation/documentation packets.

Physical Requirements:

Good physical and mental health. Frequent standing and walking during work periods. Turning, stooping, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, hand/eye coordination and lifting may be involved in treatments of residents. Visual and hearing acuity to detect changes in residents’ conditions and respond to pages. Ability to communicate with residents, families, staff, co-workers, medical personnel, regulatory agencies and consultants.
