What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Manager position at Apple Moving LLC?
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Warehouse Manager will be responsible to ensure the proper handling of our customers' equipment and/or belongings. Our customers range from household goods to commercial/industrial, and distribution projects. The expectations of this position require a physical hands-on approach within the warehouses and the office. This position reports directly to the General Manager however takes direction from local dispatch.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
▪ Managing daily warehousing activities, scheduling warehouse workforce, and working closely with local dispatch in order to accomplish daily workload.
▪ Training and supervising the warehouse staff.
▪ Coordinating all dock activity, assigning warehouse employees to appropriate tasks and monitoring progress throughout the day and assisting crew, as required, to complete tasks.
▪ Loading and unloading of trucks
▪ Planning for the peak season workloads and hiring additional staff as necessary with the General Manager's approval.
▪ Ensuring that the warehouse workforce receives any specialized training required of the job.
▪ Developing a spirit of cooperation and understanding among the work group.
▪ Coordinating the warehouse activity with the office staff by:
▪ Acknowledging all inbound/outbound shipments with local dispatch and/or customer service.
▪ Completing paperwork to include Riders and other piece count verifications to assure accuracy prior to returning documents.
▪ Properly identifying all items stored within the buildings.
REQUIREMENTS:
Work is considered heavy physical work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform heavy physical work Indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
▪ High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required.
▪ Must be legal to work in the US
▪ Must be able to pass a criminal background check
▪ Must be able to pass a drug test
▪ Previous warehouse experience preferred.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS
▪ Knowledge of moving industry and DOT regulations
▪ Forklift certification and/or ability to successfully complete forklift training and operate machinery safely according to company protocol.
▪ Excellent organization and efficient time management skills.
▪ Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
▪ Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
