We are the Maps team that is developing the industry-leading 3D experience for Apple Maps and our 3rd party developers! We are looking for versatile engineers who are passionate about building products for millions of customers around the world. As a member of our team, you will be working on ground-breaking technology to develop algorithms and techniques that provide a spectacular Maps user-experience across a range of use-cases and applications. You will help craft a next-generation graphics engine and work closely with our design team to deliver outstanding interactive graphics experiences.\n
BA/BS and 8 years working on 3D realtime rendering applications\n\nHigh proficiency in writing safe, performant C code\n\nKnowledge of the graphics pipeline, modern rendering techniques, and image processing\n\nExperience with modern graphics APIs (Metal, Vulkan, Direct3D 12, WebGPU) and shading languages (MSL, HLSL, GLSL, WGSL)\n\nAbility to solve problems in 3D geometry using linear algebra\n\nExperience with all stages of software development, from prototyping to performance optimization\n\nSolid debugging and problem-solving skills\n\nOutstanding teamwork and communication skills\n\nPassionate about owning and refining features\n
MS or PhD in CS or related technical field\n\nExperience developing interactive 3D engines on mobile platforms like iOS, Android or Linux\n\nFamiliarity with AR/VR rendering technologies
