Apple's Graphics, Games, and Machine Learning team provides the compute and graphics software foundation across all of our innovative products including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, Vision Pro, and Apple Watch.\\n\\nThe Production Metal Frameworks team is responsible for Metal API design and development across new OS and product releases. We are looking for a motivated, technical manager who can bring a broad understanding of GPU technologies to help define and deliver the next generation of Metal.\\n
As the manager of the Production Metal Frameworks team, you will own the design and implementation of the Metal API to unlock the full potential of Apple Silicon for developers. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with software teams both inside and outside of Apple to bring incredible new GPU experiences to life across Apple's platforms.
Hands-on experience with GPU APIs (Metal, DirectX, Vulkan, CUDA, etc)\nSolid foundation in systems engineering including OS fundamentals and performance analysis\nPrior experience as a manager or tech lead driving large engineering projects through definition, planning, and execution phases\nDemonstrated software design, debugging, and performance analysis abilities \nStrong programming skills with C/C /Objective-C\nBS/MS/PhD or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
Multiple years of experience directly managing engineering teams\nWide knowledge of graphics/compute API's including their differences and how they have evolved \nDetailed knowledge of a GPU architecture including their capabilities and performance characteristics\nFamiliarity machine learning fundamentals and ML frameworks as well as how they are accelerated by modern HW\nFamiliarity with Apple framework and API design patterns as well as Swift programming\nTop notch communication skills with the ability to influence up, down, and cross-functionally
