We are seeking a high-performing Used Car Lead Technician to play a critical role in our used vehicle reconditioning operations. This position combines hands-on production work with leadership responsibilities—ideal for a technician who wants to lead from the front, mentor others, and drive shop performance.
What You’ll Do
- • Work day-to-day in the used car shop performing diagnostics, repairs, and reconditioning work
- • Lead by example to drive 100% efficiency and productivity within the used car technician team
- • Train, mentor, and develop used car technicians to improve skill set, quality, and output
- • Ensure all repairs are completed accurately, efficiently, and to dealership standards
- • Complete and oversee repair orders, documentation, and warranty processes in a timely manner
- • Inspect used vehicles and determine necessary repairs to meet safety and quality standards
- • Collaborate with service advisors and management to communicate vehicle needs and status
- • Help improve shop processes, workflow, and overall reconditioning performance
- • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
What You’ll Bring
- • Proven experience as an automotive technician (used car/reconditioning experience preferred)
- • Prior leadership, mentoring, or team lead experience strongly preferred
- • Strong diagnostic and repair skills across multiple vehicle systems
- • Ability to train, coach, and hold technicians accountable to performance expectations
- • High attention to detail with strong documentation habits
- • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on efficiency and quality
- • Valid driver’s license
- • Technical training or certifications preferred
