Job Duties:
Under general supervision, but following established policies and procedures, the Research and Records Generalist delivers & sorts incoming and interdepartmental mail, issues office supplies, escorts approved vendors through the Headquarters facility and observes onsite document destruction. Processes mailed member, scanned and remote deposit transactions and inputs records into corporate document retention system. Receives, sorts, and files daily work from the branch locations and processes returned mail. Prepares records for secured storage at cold storage facility and receives/balances the transmittal of branch/department settlement files to the Federal Reserve in a timely manner. Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with The Apple Way principles, of Team Up, Serve With Purpose, Challenge Yourself and Own It. Remains cognizant of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act. Performs other duties as assigned appropriate by the Document Imaging and Records Manager
Responsibilities:
- Supports mailroom operations by sorting incoming and outgoing interdepartmental mail, delivering mail to credit union branches, receiving, and recording expedited delivery packages and affixing appropriate postage to items using a postage meter
- Issues office supplies to credit union personnel and departments following established procedures
- Processes mailed member deposits, loan payments and deposits received through Remote Deposit Capture mobile applications or scanners while ensuring that personal teller activity and applicable general ledger entries are balanced
- Performs quality assurance of account documentation to ensure compliance with member identification regulation
- Processes USPS returned mail to ensure member addresses are up to date across applicable platforms
- Inputs records into corporate imaging systems via scanning devices or imported electronic documentation and classifies results by type through data entry and filed form indexing
- Facilitates research requests for document retrieval, scanning and nightly settlement at the branch level
- Reconciles submitted branch/department settlement files with core processing results and submits finished product to the Federal Reserve by the established deadline
- Receives, sorts and files daily work from the branches and departments and assists in the labeling, shipping, and maintaining of accurate records for cold storage
- Escorts document destruction vendor during bin retrieval and logs onsite check destruction at Headquarters facility
- Directs visitors to the appropriate location and/or notifies credit union personnel of their arrival at the Headquarters facility
Qualifications-all required unless otherwise noted:
- Minimum (12) twelve months financial institution or cash handling experience is helpful
- A high school education or GED
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and member/customer service skills
- Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, sit for long periods of time. Able to utilize standard office equipment including, but not limited to, PC, fax, copier, telephone, etc. Some travel is required to Post Office. This position is not eligible for a remote work environment
- Ability to function in a financial institution branch environment
