Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Infant Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will lead the development and implementation of nurturing, engaging, and age-appropriate activities for infants, fostering a safe and stimulating environment that supports their growth and development. As a Lead Infant Teacher, you will serve as a role model for other staff members, communicate effectively with parents, and ensure compliance with all safety and licensing standards. Your energy, expertise, and compassionate approach will inspire young children to explore, learn, and thrive during their foundational years.

Duties

  • Plan and execute developmentally appropriate curriculum tailored to infants’ individual needs, promoting early childhood development milestones.
  • Supervise and care for infants ensuring their safety, comfort, and emotional well-being at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of each child's progress, daily activities, and health information in accordance with licensing requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns in a clear and positive manner.
  • Lead classroom management efforts to create an organized, engaging, and nurturing environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
  • Ensure all staff follow health and safety protocols including first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), pediatric first aid, mandated reporting laws, and sanitation standards.
  • Mentor and support assistant teachers or caregivers in implementing best practices for infant care and classroom management.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan special activities that promote social-emotional development, motor skills, language acquisition, and sensory exploration.
  • Uphold licensing regulations related to childcare, childhood development standards, diapering procedures, and emergency procedures.
  • Foster positive relationships with families through ongoing communication about their child's experiences and developmental progress.

Experience

  • Proven experience working with infants in a childcare or daycare setting is essential; preschool or toddler care experience is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of child development instruction principles specific to early childhood education.
  • Prior classroom experience managing infant or toddler groups in licensed daycare centers or similar environments.
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques suitable for young children to promote positive interactions.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus; knowledge of special education strategies is beneficial.
  • Certification in first aid, CPR (including pediatric first aid), and mandated reporting laws is required or must be obtained upon hire.
  • Strong communication skills for parent engagement and team collaboration are essential for success in this role.
