Platform Engineer

We are building and evolving a modern internal platform that powers how engineering teams build, deploy, and operate services at scale. The Platfrom Engineer sits at the intersection of infrastructure, reliability, and developer experience. You will work on improving system performance, reliability, and scalability while helping teams move faster and more safely in production. If you enjoy solving complex distributed systems problems and working across teams to improve how software is delivered, this is a strong opportunity to grow your impact.

This role is for a mid-level SRE platform engineer who is growing into broader ownership while working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams. You will contribute to improving platform reliability and scalability while expanding your skills across cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and operate scalable, reliable platform infrastructure supporting engineering teams
• Develop automation for deployment, configuration, and service lifecycle management
• Support and improve system reliability through monitoring, alerting, and incident response
• Participate in on-call rotation and troubleshoot production issues
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve service performance and operational readiness
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure resources
• Maintain and improve CI/CD and build systems
• Perform core infrastructure operations such as backup, restore, and patching
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

Job Requirements and Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Kubernetes in production environments, including Helm
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Ansible
• Proficiency in Bash and familiarity with one programming language such as Go, Python, or Java
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools
• Solid Linux fundamentals and troubleshooting experience
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
  
  

Nice to Have:

• Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or TiDB
• Experience with Redis, RabbitMQ, or Elasticsearch
• Exposure to Kubernetes networking or service mesh technologies such as Linkerd or Calico
• Familiarity with distributed systems concepts such as leader election and locking
• Experience working in microservices-based environments

Compensation:

Beyond Applause’s award-winning culture, our employee-centric benefits and competitive compensation strategy are designed to support your physical and mental well-being, promote work-life balance, and fuel your professional growth.

The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $165,000.
