Location: Beckley, WV

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Phlebotomist / Medical Specimen Collector to join our growing team. Please note this is a PRN, as needed 1099 opportunity for someone with a flexible schedule. This individual will fill in for phlebotomists that are on vacation or out sick. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in patient interactions, values accuracy, and takes pride in supporting high-quality laboratory services.

In this position, you will be responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens, including blood and urine, while ensuring proper handling, documentation, and timely transfer for testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform blood draws and collect urine specimens in a professional and patient-friendly manner
• Accession and enter orders accurately into the laboratory portal
• Process and package specimens according to established protocols
• Prepare specimens for courier pickup and ensure proper labeling and routing
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment
• Provide excellent service to patients and clinical staff

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical or medical setting
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
• Comfortable with technology and data entry
• Excellent communication and patient care skills
• Reliable and able to work independently

Certification Required (one of the following):

• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• Licensed Nurse

Job Details:

• PRN
• Pay: $17.50 – $19.00 per hour (based on experience)
• Schedule: To be determined
