Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the operations, maintenance, QA/QC Inspections, retrofits, commissioning and/or repair of wind turbine generators
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems including repair or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions. Analyze problems and perform needed repairs or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions. Perform testing.
- Help in all areas of maintenance as directed by site manager with minimal supervision
- Take direction from the Site Manager or direct manager. Inform management of any issues preventing performance of tasks.
- Complete required documentation pertaining to tasks or your time worked.
- Carry out any other tasks delegated by the company
- In the performance of your duties, use equipment and resources in accordance with instructions provided by the company
- Follow procedures, instructions and work orders as part of your normal work functions
- Maintains adherence to Company policies, environmental health and safety policies and good housekeeping practices. Identifies gaps in safety standards as well as safety risks in the environment and provides recommendations to higher level technical staff and management
- Ensure tasks are performed according to organizational requirements for quality management and environmental, health and safety standards, policies and procedures.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- 1 year experience as a Wind Technician preferred. Experience performing maintenance tasks preferred
- Experience working on Gamesa or Siemens wind turbines preferred.
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures and regulations.
- Must have knowledge of electrical principles and concepts.
- Must be able to use hand and power tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic problems preferred.
- Electrical testing experience preferred.
- Must be able to travel for extended periods at a time, work long hours and be available on short notice.
- Must be able to work in adverse and extreme weather conditions and in confined spaces.
- Must be Service-oriented and have good communication and organizational skills and be detail oriented.
- Bilingual. Ability to read and speak English and Spanish.
- The candidate needs to have the ability to climb wind turbine towers up to 300 feet in height, up to 3 times a day and the ability and willingness to handle repetitive weight (50 lbs.)

Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour
