Overview Of Position
The Restaurant General Manager at Appellation Healdsburg is the leader and steward of Folia, the hotel’s signature restaurant. This role involves managing daily operations, leading and developing the front-of-house team, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences that reflect the region’s vibrant culture and culinary scene. You’ll work closely with the Executive Chef and the entire F&B leadership team to uphold Folia’s standards and support the overall vision of Appellation Hotels.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service and exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Foster a positive and professional work environment for FOH staff.
- Hire, train, support, review, discipline, and terminate staff as necessary.
- Create and manage weekly schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Work with the culinary team to coordinate service flow and special events.
- Monitor and manage labor and operational costs for profitability.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety standards.
- Manage guest concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring swift resolution.
- Maintain accurate cash handling and financial procedures.
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to inform and motivate team members.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the dining room and all FOH areas.
- Collaborate with other F&B outlets as needed to support the hotel’s overall operations.
- Embrace Appellation’s brand standards and promote core values in all interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Bars and Restaurants.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a General Restaurant Manager in a high-volume, upscale environment; hotel experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Proven experience managing labor and controlling costs.
- Knowledge of health department regulations and safety standards.
- ServSafe certification and Manager sexual harassment training required.
- Must possess or obtain a California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification if serving alcohol (required as of 2022).
- Familiarity with POS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid California driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
