Tazewell Garden Manager & Cohort Supervisor
The Tazewell Garden Manager & Cohort Supervisor has three main primary areas of responsibility and focus as related to the Groundwork Workforce Development Program.
- Support trainee cohorts as they transition back into the workforce, and manage the Groundwork Tazewell Community Garden worksite.
- Maintaining a weekly professional development evaluation (Report Card) for individual cohorts
- Provide daily supervision at the Tazewell Groundwork worksite, the Cohort supervision generally includes;
- Weekly one on one meetings or open office hours when meetings are not possible
- Check on cohort progress
- Ensure cohort have access to any additional support
- Offer advice to cohort as needed
- Help cohorts manage their assigned row(s)
- Answer questions from community garden members
- Review and improve Community Garden Manual
- Management of the Community Garden, this generally includes;
- Maintaining ASD’s infrastructure
- Maintaining ASD’s Rows
- Maintaining Pest & Weed Management
- Communicate with Program Director about program funding needs
- Keep track of Tazewell spending and communicate with Program Director & finance team
- Assist Program Director with implementing events in the garden
- Long-term and strategic planning for Tazewell Community Garden, Metric tracking, Coordinating with partners, and assisting with grant writing. (25% estimated FTE)
- Development, edit, and maintenance of the Tazewell Community Garden strategic plan and policy documents.
- Identify potential relationships with key funders and service providers
- Identify new ways to reduce the Tazewell Community Garden program cost
- Maintain the annual calendar for Tazewell community partners and schedule meetings as needed
- Collaborate with other program managers to help promote Tazewell’s Services
- Communicate regularly with Program Director and finance team to determine what the needs for program funding, development and maintenance are
- Contributes to grant writing for program development.
- Collect Metric data for grants and future funding opportunities
- Participate and engage as part of the Organizational Development team of Appalachian Sustainable Development. (15% estimated FTE)
