This is a full-time, on-site role for a Certified Operating Room Technician based in Beckley, WV. The Certified Operating Room Technician will be responsible for assisting in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, sterilizing instruments, ensuring equipment readiness, and passing surgical instruments to surgeons during procedures. Other duties include maintaining a sterile environment, handling specimens, and supporting the surgical team to enhance patient care and safety. The role will also involve collaborating with team members to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
- Proficiency in surgical preparation, including setting up operating rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring equipment availability
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile surgical environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff
- Certification as an Operating Room (or Surgical) Technician or equivalent credential
- Attention to detail and ability to follow surgical procedures and protocols meticulously
- Basic knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting or operating room is preferred
- Ability to handle physical demands, including standing for long periods and lifting equipment when necessary
