Salary Range: $4.50/hr plus tips
Summary:
Appalachian Mountain Brewery is seeking experienced bartenders to join the team at our high- volume taproom in Mills River. Bartenders will work under the supervision of taproom management to provide excellent customer service, have a working knowledge of beer, wine, cider, and cocktails, and maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcome and interact with customers
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including beer, wine, liquor, and cider
- Know and sell a variety of food items
- Ensure that all drinks and food are properly served in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization behind the bar, in the dining room, and in the beer garden
- Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies as needed
- Handle cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently
- Organize and lift kegs
- Update beer menu/board
- Restock and fold merchandise
- Restock to-go beer offerings
- Prepare crowlers
Qualifications:
- Possess comprehensive beer, food, wine, and spirits knowledge
- Have cocktail-focused experience
- Be attentive and detail oriented
- Uphold all standards of service
- Communicate with management, kitchen staff, and floor team to ensure guest satisfaction
- Point of sale literacy
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Partake in opening and closing duties as well as running side work
- Participate in service/culinary training
- Work as a team and remain professional at all times
Education and/or Experience:
- 2 years’ experience working as a bartender or server in a restaurant or brewpub
(preferred)
- Certified Cicerone Beer Server certification (required prior to working first shift)
Work Environment:
- Bar environment including hot areas, hot equipment, coolers, freezers, sharp knives
- Kitchen environment, including hot areas, hot equipment, coolers, freezers, sharp knives
- Fast-paced, high-volume
Physical Demands:
- While performing job duties the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, lift, talk, and hear
- The employee is required to be on foot for a large portion of the shift
- The employee may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch
- Must be able to lift approximately 20 pounds overhead
- Must be able to move full and empty kegs

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
