What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forest Technician position at Appalachian Land Management?
We are seeking Seasonal Forestry Technicians to join our team for the Spring. Position is seasonal and runs from March-October. No experience required, we will train.
We are a vegetative management company that controls invasive plants through a variety of techniques. Our team utilizes a variety of chemical and mechanical means to control target vegetation.
Our work is on a project by project basis. We travel throughout North Western PA and Eastern Ohio to different jobsites. Own transportation to warehouse in Mars, PA is a must. Transportation to jobsite is provided in company vehicles. Hotels are covered by the company and a daily stipend for food is provided. Work is 100% travel based.
Job Duties
- Mixing, loading, applying chemical solutions
- Identifying target plants
- Carrying a 30 # backpack sprayer
- Working outside, over sometimes steep, rocky or flat terrain. We do not work in heavy rain.
- Operating ATV's
- Operating Chainsaws and Brush cutters

- Manual Labor - Ability to perform manual labor for long periods of time. Physically demanding position.
