Appalachian Hospice, a locally owned hospice provider is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Clinical Manager of its Blairsville office. In this position, the Clinical Manager will report directly to the Adiministrator. The following are the job qualifications and responsibilities:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A person who is a registered nurse
- Has at least two (2) years’ experience as hospice administrator/clinical manager with prior employer
- Demonstrated ability in or application of organizational/communication skills.
- Ability to deal effectively with high levels of stress.
- Ability to enlist the cooperation of many people in furthering a program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organizes and directs Hospice’s clinical operations and staff.
- Employs qualified personnel and ensures adequate staff education and evaluations.
- Implements effective financial controls; assures accuracy for billing procedures.
- Consistently follows Hospice policies and procedures to set an example for employees.
- Assesses employees on an ongoing basis to ascertain their understanding of policies and procedures.
- Assists employees to support policies and achieve necessary changes.
- Uniformly enforces Hospice’s policies and procedures.
- Documents employee problems in personnel files
- Evaluates effectiveness and efficiency of Hospice's clinical operations.
- Maintains compliance with applicable federal, state and local rules and regulations and accreditation standards.
- Supervises all clinical staff and clinical operations.
- Participates in business development activities, as requested.
- Plans and directs clinical operations to ensure the provision of adequate and appropriate care and services.
- Ensures clinical staff development including orientation, in-service education and continuing education.
- Coordinates with other program areas and management as appropriate.
- Maintains current knowledge of local trends and issues.
