Job Overview
Appalachian Equipment Solutions, a rapidly expanding SANY dealership, is looking for a skilled and driven Territory Sales Manager to join our dynamic team in Southern West Virginia. In this role, you will represent our SANY equipment line, drive profitable sales and rentals of new and used machinery, nurture existing customer relationships, and develop new business opportunities. We’re seeking a professional with a customer-focused mindset who thrives on introducing innovative products to the market and building a strong brand presence. This role requires excellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills, along with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Duties

Sales and Rentals

  • Promote and sell SANY equipment, including new and used machinery.
  • Identify and develop rental opportunities to meet customer needs.
  • Achieve or exceed sales and rental targets within the assigned territory.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
  • Address customer concerns and provide solutions to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and competitor activities.
  • Promote SANY's brand and products to increase market presence in Southern West Virginia.

Consultative Selling

  • Assess customer needs and recommend suitable equipment solutions.
  • Prepare and present proposals, pricing, and contracts tailored to customer requirements.

Territory Management

  • Develop and execute a territory sales strategy to maximize market penetration.
  • Schedule regular visits with customers and prospects to maintain visibility and engagement.

 

Reporting and Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market data.
  • Submit timely sales reports and forecasts to management.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the service, parts, and support teams to ensure seamless customer experiences.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute insights to improve overall business operations.

Product Knowledge

  • Stay informed about SANY products, features, and competitive advantages.
  • Provide product demonstrations and training as needed.

Requirements

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in heavy equipment, construction, or related industries.
  • Familiarity with the Southern West Virginia market and its business environment.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic technical understanding of heavy equipment and machinery.

Physical and Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Capacity to lift or move moderately heavy items when necessary for product demonstrations or events.

  • Knowledge of SANY products or similar equipment is a plus.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development.

  • Experience in the equipment industry.
  • Familiarity with various types of machinery and equipment.

Industry Knowledge

  • Familiarity with the heavy equipment market and its applications in construction, mining, and related industries.
  • Understanding of Southern West Virginia’s business landscape and customer base.

Sales Skills

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals in a competitive environment.
  • Experience with consultative and solution-based selling techniques.
  • Proficiency in creating and delivering impactful sales presentations.

Technical Expertise

  • Knowledge of heavy machinery operation, specifications, and maintenance needs.
  • Ability to conduct equipment demonstrations confidently.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Experience in building long-term relationships with customers and managing accounts effectively.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and data analysis to identify trends and opportunities.

Personal Attributes

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
