What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Service Technician/Driver -Fulltime position at Appalachian Crossroads?
Job Summary: The primary purpose of this role is to provide safe and reliable transportation services for individuals supported by Appalachian Parent Association Inc. This includes ensuring timely and efficient transport to and from the Day Program, while maintaining a high standard of care and professionalism.
Responsibilities: Driver
- Transport individuals supported to and from the Day Program, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of passengers and other road users.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist individuals with boarding and alighting from the vehicle, providing necessary support to those with mobility challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, including mileage, passenger information, and any incidents or delays encountered.
- Communicate effectively with program staff and families regarding transportation schedules and any changes or issues that arise.
- Uphold the values and mission of Appalachian Parent Association Inc. by providing compassionate and respectful service to all individuals supported.
Responsibilities: Transportation Service Technician
-Complete preventative and routine maintenance on each vehicle according to a prescribed schedule.
-Complete circle checks and monthly inspections on each vehicle.
-Assist Transportation Supervisor in analyzing vehicle maintenance problems and developing a course of action for repair. This may include scheduling repair work at a licensed repair shop if needed.
-Dispose of all used motor oil, antifreeze, used parts in the appropriate container prescribed for that purpose.
-Monitor inventory of supplies and materials.
-Monitor inventory of tools. Ensure that tools are properly cared for.
-Maintain the work area in the garage in a clean, orderly manner.
-Complete non-routine vehicle repairs, as directed by the Transportation Supervisor, that are within the skill and knowledge base of the individual, given tools, equipment, and available space.
