Job Purpose:
- The Day DSP Part-Time position at Appalachian Parent Association Inc. Appalachian Crossroads is designed to support and enhance the quality of life for adults with intellectual disabilities. The role focuses on engaging with individuals during CDS evening and weekend activities, ensuring a safe, supportive, and enriching environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and participate in evening and weekend activities tailored for adults with intellectual disabilities.
- Provide direct support and assistance to individuals, ensuring their safety and well-being during activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and personal growth.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute engaging and meaningful programs.
- Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and other stakeholders to support individual goals and needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of activities and individual progress.
- Uphold the organization's values and standards in all interactions and activities.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma
Required Experience:
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred.
- Previous experience in a caregiving or support role is advantageous.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with adults with intellectual disabilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to support evening and weekend activities.
